Game Changer: Jaden Smith face of Louis Vuitton Women’s Line

Whoever said fashion was limited by gender? The fashion industry has grown so diverse over the past couple of years. Women are now rocking menswear, so why can’t men do the same? Jaden Smith is surely making a statement to do so! The actor turned model recently caused a lot of controversy when it was announced that he was the new face of Louis Vuitton’s SS ’16 women’s line.

Although the designs were created for the warm seasons, they add an edgy flare and can be rocked all-year-around for some…let’s just say that they look amazing. Nicholas Ghesquiere (the creative director @ LV) was actually the brains behind the magic that took place for Jaden’s photoshoot when it came to the new line. Ghesquieres’ Instagram account was the first to announce and introduce Jaden Smith as the face of the new line.

via Nicholas Ghesquiere’s Instagram:

“Happy to introduce Jaden Smith @christiaingrey in the new SS16 @louisvuitton ad campaign photographed by Bruce Weber.”

Over the years, Jaden has been seen in serveral items that would be seen more “girlie” like dresses, skirts, leggings and any other traditional “girl attire” that you could possibly think of, but the teen says the way he dresses depends on how he feels for the day, and not how others might view him.

Despite the backlash that Jaden has been receiving, I think he’s great at what he does. It almost comes natural for him, which is why it’s so easy to respect him and his craft. It’s very commendable to go against societal norms — you go Jaden!

Check out the photoshoot below and tell me how you guys feel about it below. Would you rock these looks? Join our conversation via Twitter and Instagram to always stay in the know!
