Fenty Beauty: Every Melanin Girls Dream!

Since the launch of Rihanna’s “Fenty Beauty” on Thursday, Sept. 7th, the internet has been going crazy – in a good way of course. Rihanna’s strides this year have been nothing short of amazing – and the launch of her new beauty line in Sephora is definitely impactful for women of color in so many ways. With one way being that we finally might not have to purchase multiple foundations to find our “perfect shade” – that’s one giant step towards greatness ya know?

Fenty Beauty hit the shelves of Sephora, featuring 40 different shades of foundation. That’s right, 4-0. Just when we thought we couldn’t love Ms. Fenty anymore, she struck again – aiming to provide beauty needs for melanin chicks everywhere.

In Rihanna’s speech about Fenty Beauty, she states:

“There’s so many different shades — there’s red undertones, there’s green undertones, there’s blue undertones, there’s pink undertones… You want people to appreciate the product and not feel like, ‘Oh that’s cute, but it only looks good on her.’”


Yes, Rih – we feel you. But not only should we thank Rihanna for creating such a diverse line of beauty products, we’d also like to thank Kendo Brands (the makers of Fenty Beauty). If you aren’t familiar with Kendo Brands, they are Sephora’s indie label that also houses cult brand names like Kat Von D, Marc Jacobs Beauty and now, Fenty Beauty.
