Caitlyn Jenner has been a true example of Courageous! She was honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage award at the 2015 ESPYS awards on July 15th.  It was a huge night for Caitlyn because this was her first major appearance since the reveal of her new identity. The former Olympian wore a beautiful custom, white Versace gown for the event but her elegance and poise is what topped it off.

Although everyone was anticipating Cait’s look, no one expected her to move the crowd the way she did. The most powerful moment out of the evening was her acceptance speech. She spoke on her transition, the importance of accepting people for who they are and respect.

Though she left an impactful speech, Caitlyn later admitted that giving her speech big fear. Here’s what Caitlyn had to say about the playback from the night:

“While I felt like I looked great and that the gown looked fabulous, I still have a voice issue. It’s not quite right compared to my feminine appearance. That bothers me a little bit. However, I hope that people don’t listen to the pitch of my voice, but listen to what I have to say.  That’s important to me.”

Despite how she felt about her speech, she had her all of her children nine biological and step-children there to support her every step of the way. They were often seen on camera throughout the speech applauding her or even some crying as she spoke.  They were also dressed to impress in all black as a unit. No matter how people may feel about Caitlyn, there’s no doubt that every one watching could take something from her remarkable message.
