Stress Levels

While beauty may only be skin deep, I would like to keep a clear face to go along with my clear conscious. Healthy skin is important. To obtain a natural glow when you look in the mirror, sleep is important. As a young adult I understand there are sleepless nights, but on average and realistically, your body needs 7 hours of sleep. The hype about water is not a myth. Your adult body is composed of approximately 60% H20 and needs 8-9 glasses a day to satisfy its hydration. When your skin is dehydrated it is prone to breakouts. It is crucial to have a balance of water to oil on the surface of your skin as well. Drinking water allows for skin to be hydrated which promotes the plump in collagen, and elastic to keep away wrinkles. Hydrated skin is less likely to crack and let in external particles that can cause irritations and blemishes.

Your stress is also important. A high stress level can cause you to lose sleep. A loss of sleep can cause bags under the eyes. When people are stressed they often breathe short and choppy breaths. This causes the face to appear flushed. A flushed face has a red undertone. When feeling stressed look to breathing exercises. A favorite is breathing out on a small whisper “f” sound. Press your top teeth gently upon your bottom lip and whisper as if you were beginning to say an “f” word such as flute.

Teeth Whitening

A white smile also enhances ones natural beauty. Though you can go to the dentist or buy products, there is one natural home remedy that I personally swear by. My mother taught me this at a very early age. Peroxide and baking soda. When researching I came across baking soda and lemon. This may be one of the most popular of the natural teeth whitening home remedies. The chemical reaction of baking soda with the citrus of lemon juice has a smile-brightening effect. Either way, the baking soda is clearly the main aspect. Instead of lubricating your toothbrush with water apply either lemon juice or peroxide. Then pack baking soda onto the wet toothbrush. Brush as normal and repeat accordingly.

Hair Growth

Growing your lashes is simple if you can just remember one small step every night. If you have either castor oil or Vaseline you don’t have to worry about going out and buying anything. Choose one or the other and apply to your eyelashes every night before bed. First you will notice a difference in thickness, followed by length.

Even if you don’t care for long hair, healthy hair is desired. Ladies it is important to get your ends trimmed. If you are natural and wear protective styles, between hairstyles is a good time. If you are just natural, when your hair gets straightened, get your ends clipped. If you aren’t natural, get your ends cut once a month. It allows your hair to grow out healthy and overall it enhances every hairstyle. When hair is healthy is has more of a luster and bounce. Shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer is important. Every hair texture and person is different so play around with things with work for you. Make sure your shampoos and conditioners are sulfate free. If you cannot afford all the fancy hair moisturizers they advertise, three products will do the trick. Castor oil, coconut oil and wild hair growth oil are three products that can be found at your local beauty supply. When hair grows, it first goes through a stage of getting thicker and then it gets longer. Make sure your scalp is moisturized at all times. The only exception of not moisturizing is when your hair is straightened. For some woman growing hair takes more time than others, just be patient and stay consisted.

Inner Body

Lastly, it is November and winter is sneaking up very quickly. Tis the season for sore throats and colds. To stay out of that category, dress accordingly. Just because it’s 70 outside doesn’t mean it’s summer outside. The night temperatures drop, and if you are living in the Midwest temperatures are 80 on Tuesday and 64 on Wednesday. Remember small tips; layer more, always bring a jacket, tights with skirts and long sleeve shirts.

Staying away from the common cold can be as simple as drinking orange juice and washing your hands. Washing your hands is important because many of us tend to put our hands around our mouth and face. To help reduce breakouts and germs getting into our body, keep hands clean and away from our face. During the winter months boost the amount of your vitamin c intake. Vitamin c is one of the healthiest nutrients that enhances your immune system. It protects us from colds and coughs, strengthens the body’s resistance to infection, and fights against viruses.

Along with orange juice, enjoy your warm beverages such as tea, apple cider, hot chocolate, pumpkin spice, coffee and other holiday favorites. Besides keeping you warm and cozy, these warm drinks offer serious health benefits; helping with digestion and boosting your immune system. As this year comes to an end, enjoy your holidays by staying healthy so that you are able to stay beautiful!
