Ariana Grande writes powerful essay on feminism and empowerment!

Talk about girl power! Singer, Ariana Grande gave insight on her views on empowerment and feminism as she discussed her break-up with rapper, Big Sean, and how “being empowered…is not the same as being a bitch.” She broke it down for everyone on Sunday afternoon with a long post on Instagram, making it clear that she doesn’t belong to anyone but herself!

The essay was in response to all of the rumors surrounding her recent interview with The Sun. In her interview, she explained that, “A girl can be friends with someone with a d— and not hop on it.”

Grande told the news outlet, “I’m tired of needing to be linked to a guy, I’m not Big Sean‘s ex, I’m not Niall‘s new possible girl. I’m Ariana Grande.”

That is: “What I meant when I said what I said about not being Sean’s ex is that I am tired of living in world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present or future PROPERTY / POSSESSION,” Grande wrote in her Sunday post.

She added: “I have clearly not been having the boy questions in my interviews lately because I have come to the realization that I have SO. MUCH. MORE. to talk about.”

I’m so proud of Ariana Grande for speaking out, and shedding light on a subject that is so important in today’s society.

Ladies, you don’t belong to anyone, and honestly, you don’t owe anyone anything either! Stand for yourself, and for yourself only.
